University Prep


University Prep is a new kindergarten through fifth grade tuition-free, public charter school. University Prep will open its doors on August 8, 2011 with 120 kindergarten and first grade scholars. University Prep will grow a grade at a time until we reach full capacity during the 2015-16 school year.

Achievement Goals


Kindergarten
  • At least 90% of K students will complete the year at/above grade level proficiency in reading (STEP 3 or higher).
  • At least 95% of K students will complete the year at/above the 50th percentile on the end-of-year nationally norm-referenced assessment (Terra Nova).
  • On average, K students will grow an average of 6 percentiles per year until exceeding the 75th percentile (long-term goal is for 100 % of University Prep scholars to exit our school in 5th grade achieving at/above the 75th percentile)
1st Grade
  • At least 85% of 1st grade students will complete the year at/above grade level proficiency in reading (STEP 6 or higher).
  • At least 90% of 1st grade students will complete the year at/above the 50th percentile on the end-of-year nationally norm-referenced assessment (Terra Nova).
